Will pay for a good tab of Slide Off of Your Satin Sheets

This is my first post on the forum. Will be ordering a steel soon, and would really like to use this song by Johnny Paycheck as a learning tool. I want most of what can be gotten off of the record, I suppose.

I can supply a piece of a piece of a tab for the “slithering,” as it is called, that comes after, “Splendor, Lord, you’ve got it, wall to wall.” This got posted on the forum a LONG time ago.

The problem is that it is practically unintelligible (to me anyway). It seems that there is not a great deal of standardization between tabs, but I really am going to need something that I can follow with the correct meter and note values, maybe written underneath. Hand-written is OK. The guitar I’m going to order will be S10 3/4, with standard Emmons coped.

Let me know what you can provide and what you might charge. Probably wouldn’t hurt to have several different tabs from you experts anyway.

Thanks

Hey Mike W. -

Welcome to the Forum! Just be aware that "Satin Sheets" uses non-standard tuning of string 10. Here's some information on how Big Jim Vest did it:

Hey Mike if you go to YouTube and type in Legends of Steel Guitar. Part 8 Jim Vest shows how he did that lick that is in the song at the end of the intro. It involves lowering the tenth string, a whole step.

Doug Jernigan does a great instrumental version of this. It's on his speed picking and country ballad cd and book.
