Just came across this footage of the late great Buddy at the Gerry Hogan's Steel Guitar Show, Newbury UK in 1988. It's an hour long show with Buddy at his best along with an incredible back up band. The master works both necks on his EMCI switching between country, pop and jazz like only he does. A true work of art.

I forgot to mention the riff battle between Buddy and Albert Lee at the end of the show is astounding! _________________ GFI Expo X1, Melbert 8, Rukavina 6

Thanks for posting that, Frank. What a great show. Buddy is on fire and having such a good time... After you watch this show there is no question that he was THE master player of our time. |

Larry...he was the "Master" alright. He played our convention twice....it might have been this particular one that me and a few others had to do our set before Buddy....talk about "fright" ...well I'm still here and didn't die on that stage

I especially like Elton John's "Blue Eyes" at around 12:50.
He mentions that he recorded it for a new album, was it ever released? _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Thanks Jerry. It's enough for me to know that he recorded it. Maybe I'm lucky to catch that record one day along the line _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
