I always enjoy your playing Doug. My wife even stopped to listen. She said you play very pretty. High praise...considering her indifference toward most things steel, haha.

Nice one Doug. I was on the beach, the salty air breezes were blowing, my drink was tasty and cold and the hula girls were amazing, I mean really amazing.

Very nice and smooth Doug, Seems you are playing a 10 string Eddie Alkire Eharp? Are you using his tuning ?

Thanks George. Yes, it's a 10-string Alkire Eharp, the first version, made by Epiphone. The tuning is E13. I've never tried the original Eharp tuning. On paper it looks difficult... six strings in a row tuned in 1/2 steps. That was enough to scare me away. Smile

I gave the Eharp tuning a whirl on my 10 string SHO-BUD frypan. All it did for me was to increase my admiration for Eddie Alkire ! It is a VERY difficult tuning. I fully understand the frustration you may have experienced. Your musicianship is superb !

Another good one. Have always liked your recordings. Out of interest, how many steels do you have?

Thanks Mick. I have about a dozen steel guitars. I used to do a lot of buying and selling. Many of the guitars I play in the videos I no longer own. Thanks for checking out the video.
