pickup

The 3rd string on my old '78 MSA seems to have lost some of its volume compared to the other strings. I tried a new set and it made no difference. I really have to "dig into" it to get the volume closer to the others. Is it possible to raise the pole of the pick up on that string or do I need a new pickup. Or is there another solution. Thanks

If you can raise the pole for that string, give it a try.

always try a new string first.

Try cleaning the crown of the fingers. A rough spot or piece of dirt can restrict vibrations.

Use a .0115 or .012 gauge string, and the problem will probably go away. 8)
