Hum

Post by Paul Fry »

I use the Hilton pedal. I am getting a loud hum when I increase the volumn. Can anyone give me a solution?

Do you have a steel with single coil pickups? That would be my first guess. A bad guitar cord is another. A bad ground in the guitar or jack is another.

Paul..Have you plugged the guitar directly to the amp to determine if that may be the problem or tried using different cords? If so and the problem has been isolated to the VP itself, would suggest contacting Keith Hilton, he may provide an answer..FWIW: Have used Hilton pedals for years and they have always remained whisper quiet.

Jack & David, thanks for the advice! I practice through my headphones so the wife doesn't have to listen all the time. I will try your suggestions & post me results. Thanks again!
