I never see any posts regarding humidity in regard to a pedal steel guitar. I keep all of my instruments in the same room. I have been humidifying my acoustics "in case". Meaning my humidifiers are in the case and I measure humidity inside the cases as well. I am thinking more and more about humidifying the entire room my guitars are in but Im afraid it won't be good for my Pedal steel (Mica Mullen G2)
What do you guys do. Will 45-55% humidity hurt my pedal steel? Thanks

We played an outdoor night gig 2 weeks ago. It was a 3 hour gig so we just took one break in the middle. When we came back on stage everything had dew on it. Played the last half with everything wet. Lived thru it and all my stuff still works. (At least as well as it did before)

Should be fine.
I'm thinking it's more critical for acoustic instruments because their woods are much thinner and kinda on the edge of their physical limits, while we have great huge planks. We can take lower humidity or higher for longer, as long as we don't wreck the glues, or the humidity doesn't rust the plain steel such as pivot rivets

I lived in Anchorage Alaska for thirty somewhat years and that was a desert environment no humidity,I've had a few acoustic guitars crack.Last May I moved to The Hudson Valley in Upstate New York and we have to run a de-humidifier a few times a month in fact the mint boomerang laminate on my Desert Rose guitar have bubbled and the guitar is at Chuck Back's waiting on some new laminate...I got tired of trying to regular so I sent the guitar to Chuck to fix...We get some serious rain storms here Winking

I live in Florida, and regularly go from an Air conditioned house & car to playing an outside gig in 90 degree heat & 90% humidity. Never a problem with any of my guitars, accoustics, or steels, which also include a Mullen. I wouldn't overthink it or worry about it too much.
