I became friends with Carl in 08. He was doing videos for Bobby Reed. He told me this story and some other people had said he use to be a great Steeler. Carl never thought he would ever get back to playing like he once did. The first show Bobby had in Mount Vernon(The good ole days) I made Carl share my set with me. It only took a couple of songs and he was swinging away. A very special moment for both of us. Love you Carl.

WOW! Thank you guys so much. Without great friends like you
and so many others I sure couldn't be what I am. Love you all.
If I hadn't help and inspiration from guys like you and many
other steel players, I would never have tried to play steel again.
God bless you all and keep steeling. I am. :D :D :D.. ..Lucky

Thanks Demir and Rodger. I don't know why Roy selected to put me in their
nice news letter, but I thought he did such a wonderful job of telling others
about what my life's been like for many years, I thought I would post it here
so others that wondered would know who I am and what I've been thru.
With the help of God and many wonderful friends I made it this far. :D :D :D

I was fortunate enough to meet Carl at the show in Benton Illinois a few years ago. Mr. Lynn Owsley introduced me to him which i will be forever greatful. It turned out I live 22 miles from Carl's studio.Though Carl no longer uses the recording part of it I can say he has one of the nicest and well equipped recording studio in this area. Carl has taken me under his wing along with others and has been a very big inspiration and has shared a wealth of information and training with me and others. I cant thank Carl enough for his dedication to making me a steel player and am blessed to call him and his wife Jean my friends.I could go on and on but the truth is that i need to get busy and work on my assignments I got over the phone tonight. i try to make it up there once a week but Carl will work on lessons and I get about 3 each week on the phone. God bless you my friend and may you have many more years to entertain and enjoy your music my friend. Oh and Happy Birthday again Carl

This is my first post on this amazing forum. I will use this first post to say that Lucky has been helpful to me and is interested in helping beginners get started in their quest to learn the PSG. Carl has reached out to me and offered to help me in any way that he can. It turns out that he lives maybe two hours away and has invited me to go hang out with him and get some instruction and maybe learn a few gospel songs. That's the kind of man he is.

To have someone that close by offering that kind of help and support makes ME lucky too :)

Hey Mike, many thanks. Yeah we spend a lot of time together for sure
and sometimes I think we drive each nuts, but we both sure enjoy it.
Always enjoy talking to you and Sue about every day. She always ask's
me to play something pretty for her. I don't know why, but she always
likes to hear me play as much as you do. Another good country girl.

Randy, many thanks to you. Was nice to meet you and welcome you to
this great forum. You have my phone # and can call me anytime you like.
I'm always available and will try to help you anyway I can.
Lucky :)

I really enjoy the learning process Carl and i compare it to climbing a never ending set of stairs. and yes we do take turns driving each other nuts but it keeps things interesting and we always have miss jean to act as referee when needed :) Sue really does enjoy listening to your playing on he phone as much as I do thank you for your time effort and patience and expertise. .
