Here are some pics of my simple keyboard stand table top.
Just set up a keyboard stand and clip the table top to it. Ready to use in seconds. The clips snap into place and make the whole stand feel very solid.
It's just plywood covered with indoor outdoor carpet. (which works great with Velcro fasteners too)
NOTE: Particle board will work, but it's much heavier, and after a few hundred gigs, mine developed a crack on one corner, so I replaced the particle board with plywood, and it's great.
I also used tee-nuts and 1/4 X 20 bolts instead of wood screws (again particle board is not good with wood screws)

How about a (senior citizen's) folding walker? I was at our local senior citizen's thrift shop the other day and they had at least a dozen of them for $5-$10. I bought one several years ago for my wifes keyboard,,,works great. |

That looks like a nifty little stand.
Compact and easy to transport.
I use this one:
On Stage KS7150 Table Top Keyboard Stand....... I love the darn thing.
I covered a 12" X 29" plank with a rubber shelf liner and the guitar sits on that.
It does collapse and fold up although it never leaves my music room
but yours looks more convenient to use if I was going to be traveling with it.
It is very comfortable to sit and play at.
My tab rack clamps on to the rear legs.

Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying. |

I use the same one, also with a board on top. |

I remember seeing Big Jim Murphy doing just that when he played with Asleep at the Wheel some years ago. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

This is what I did for my dobro... same stand Dom uses, except on "T" is cut off to compensate for the neck to body height...
I may redo mine to use the board like Dom. I can make a neck rest with velcro on the bottom. That way I could also have my lap steel on the stand. _________________ Amateur Radio Operator NA4IT (Extra)

I may, in fact, be nuts. However, I am screwed onto the right bolt... Jesus! |

I just bought one on your recommendation, and I agree that it's great. Solidly built, and goes up to 43" high (most keyboard stands only go ~36". I stuck some 3M Safety-Walk tape on top so the steel won't slide off. _________________ ========================

The clips are called garden tool holders. |
I use two of 'em fastened 90% back-to-back to clip my harmonica(s) to the mic stand. |
