We are going to visit New York for 4 days in November, staying at Warwick Hotel on West 54th street. We will attend "From Sammy with love" at the Apollo theatre on the 10th of November. I have some thoughts about doing other things too, when evenings comes along. So please help us.
Is there any place in New York where we can listen to country music and some great steel player?
And what kind of weather can we expect? What is normal at that time of the year.

The PSGA show will be held in Norwalk, Connecticut on Nov. 6th...they tell me that is about 50 miles from Manhattan.

Wish I could help. Used to play the NYC country circuit 20-30 years ago when it was hot;don't know if there's anything happening anymore, as I moved to Florida when the NYC scene died, and THAT was 20 years ago.
Weather in NYC in November SUX...cold & wet, gray, dreary & depressing... Which is another reason why I moved to Florida!
Search out John Widgren on the forum. He is from nearby Connecticut, and he would prolly know what's going on there nowadays.

It can be tough to find steel in NYC. The country bars I've played at are Hill Country (Manhattan and Brooklyn), Hanks (Brooklyn), Rodeo Bar (gone, Brooklyn), and Skinny Dennis (also Brooklyn). All are fun, but it's questionable whether there will be a steel player or not.
