I JUST HEARD A STORY ABOUT THE BLADE
BUDDY DID YOU TRY TO FIND THE BLADE
TO BUY IT BACK .I HEARD YOU FOUND IT
AND IT HAD BEEN TOOK APART AND HAD WHEELS
ON THE LEGGS AND A KID WAS PLAYING WITH IT
IN THE YARD
IS THAT FACT OR JUST AN OLD FISHING STORY |

I heard that was the "Wagon". Not the Blade, but an earlier push/pull with a very early serial number. I heard it was literally converted into a kid's wagon with wheels on it.

I don't know if the wagon story is fact or fishin' story, but did you ever hear about how I found my first '65 Emmons?
It seems that I was out with my father-in-law in his bass boat at Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. I'd say about 8:15 in the morning with a light overcast sky and water about 66 degrees. Wind from the southeast, no lie. We were trolling around Indian Creek with deep running crankbaits, when suddenly I set both sets of treble hooks of a Bill Dance Fat Free Shad on what felt like Moby Dick! Seriously, I thought I was hung up on a log, when after about 10 minutes of heavy reeling, I ... well, never mind. You wouldn't believe it anyway.

You beat me to it! I was going to tell the one where I pulled in a 66 bolt-on with my fly-rod in the Caney Fork river. Man those things sure get around. |

| Yes that was the Touch My Heart guitar I sold to my friend, Dickie Overby when he was living in Nashville. The wagon story is his and he tells it for the truth. Stranger things have happened to both of us in the "good ole days,” so I have never had any reason to doubt his word. If by chance he was putting me on, it’s still a great story. |

You are correct to cut that tale short when you did. I knew it was a whopper when you stated that this occurrence was at the Lake of the Ozarks.
This same tale is, by all accounts, about the sightings of the very elusive Loch Ness push/pull. Don't get me wrong. I've never seen it myself; but I know people who have.
