You know like the saddle PU's for acoustic guitars.
I was thinking of attaching a few of these under side and rout them to a seperate pre amp and then be able to blend with the regular PU. what do you think.

It will really improve the sound of the mechanical goings-on from under the guitar. |

I actually did try this on my old ShoBud S12 about 20 years ago. It actually sounded pretty fair until I stepped on a pedal! Like Chas said "It improved the sound of the mechanical goings on" under the guitar. Every movement of anything came through the amp. All kinds of creaks, squeaks, whines, etc. I also tried a Bigsby Palm Pedal on an acoustic/electric guitar which worked great unplugged but once you plugged the dang thing in you got all that movement noise......Have a good 'un, JH

Actually, I know what you're talking about, and that same phenom happens when pickups get old and become "microphonic". As it is Sho~Bud pickups being attached directly to the body pick up quite a bit of body resonance. To me, I think that's part of the "sound".
Aside from a little extra pedal noise, I like that sound much better than the sterile sounds from isolated pickups.
It'd be a kick to put a condenser under the body and have a simple mixing knob.
Let us know what you do, and how you like it.
