Hey Tommy!

I just have to begin with saying that I'm a huge fan of you and your playing!! Now, to my question: I own a -94 (or -96, not completely sure) Emmons LeGrande II D-10, mahogny finish, serial no. 1350L , that is said to have once belonged to your father. I'm just curious to know if you ever played that particular guitar, since I thought it looked like you played a mahogny legrande on one of the June Jam -96 photos on your website.

Regards!

Niklas,
Thank you for the compliments.
Yes, I'm very familiar with the guitar in question. While working on a television show by the name of "Music City Tonight" airing on then what was known as The Nashville Network(now Spike T.V.) I ordered 2 Emmons Legrandes , both mahogany mica. One for me and one for my dad.
Unfortunately, I went to work one day at the TV studio, sat down to play and my mahogany guitar literally came apart at the seams when I pushed a pedal, with cross shafts ,springs and rods falling into my lap(back when I had a lap). I guess the problem might have been caused by temp and/or humidity changes in the studio. My dads guitar on the other hand was a fine one. I put several hours on it myself.
Anyway, sorry for the long story. Hope you enjoy the guitar as much as my dad and I did.
My best,
T.W.

Farris,
Thank you!
I must say for the record, Emmons Guitar Co.inc. did replace the guitar in just a few days and I had excellent relations with everyone at the Emmons company until the day Ron Lashley Sr.was no longer president of the company. I also wish Ron Jr. all the best in his endeavors.
