I was in Hawaii a couple of months ago and discovered a radio station playing authentic Hawaiian music. It's full of steel guitar. While I don't understand the indigenous language, I understand the steel!

Don,

Apparently you missed the Hawaiian Music & Hula Dancer at the Halekulani Hotel, performing 7 nights a week.
Alan Akaka plays steel guitar at the Marriot Hotel on the 3rd floor in Waikiki .

You should have contacted the HSGA in Honolulu, prior to your trip, for info on other performers in Honolulu.

Thanks, Joachim. Glad you like it, too.

And thanks, Roger, for this suggestion. We didn't go to Oahu but only Maui and the Big Island. If we go back again and visit Oahu I'll check out your suggestions.
