I was experimenting with C#m tuning and this popped up. There is a tab for this in the current issue of HSGA Quarterly. It is accompanied by an adaptation of the arrangement for C6 by John Ely. In the issue there is also a great article on the legendary and mysterious MK Moke.

Wonderful. Now you need a double time section for blowing!

Cheers, Mike. It is a great tuning. I've been mucking about with F#9 too but I've got a long way to go before I could solo effectively with them. I'm not sure I'm going to spend a lot of time on that when there is so far to go with A6 or C6. |

Thanks, Doug. I don't know the answer to the C#m question. It is clearly E6. While I don't know the late Sol catalogue that well, I am hard pressed to think of a tune with minor tonality. Same goes for Dick McIntire. What seems certain is that F#9, using the same top four strings, predated C#m. Maybe it was some way of distinguishing between the two. |
