Paul,
Good memory. Buddy had at least one son, Larry Emmons played bass quite well and was a Texas Troubadour for a time.

Don't know if Peggy had children. If so, they sure had a nice mom.

Regards,
Craig

In the early 1990's Larry was the bass player for Mike Griffin & The Unknown Blues Band

Chris, I just do not know if Buddy and Peggy had children together. I do remember a grand daughter being killed in an automobile accident several years ago before the Texas show. I felt like they would not come to Texas but Buddy and Peggy came and he played extremely well. Most of these top pros keep their family life private and I sure do not blame them for that.

I just did a search on the obituary for Buddy Emmons. It stated he married Peggy in 1967. He was survived by one son, Larry and four grandchildren. I have no idea how old Larry is and do not know if Peggy was his biological mother. Evidently Larry was a pretty good musician himself.

I did a bunch of research on Buddy Emmon’s life when I wrote the Wikipedia article about him eight or nine years ago:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddy_Emmons

Here are the relevant excerpts regarding Buddy’s children:
- Emmons' son, Larry, from his first marriage, later became a professional musician, playing bass with Ernest Tubb.
- According to a 1965 interview, Emmons and his second wife, Gigi "have two children, Buddie Gene and Tami."
- In 1967, he married his third wife Peggy, who brought twin girls, Debbie and Diana, from her first marriage.

Thanks Dave. I thought that I had read where there was more children than just Larry. I never knew that about the twins.

When I attended Jeff Newman's beginner's course in 1983, Buddy walked, holding a little girl I'd guess to be about three or four years old. Peggy came in just behind them. I presumed the little girl was theirs.
