San Antonio Steel Guitar Association on Public Television

Over the last few months, Steve Bissell has video-taped and edited the San Antonio Steel Guitar Association monthly jams. Those edited programs have been given to the producer (Frank Burns) at Public Access Television who has arranged to air them on Saturday evenings (a prime spot).

The program will air every Saturday in the San Antonio viewing area at 6:30 pm on Public Access TV (Time Warner Digital Cable Channel 20 - Grande Cable Channel 19 - AT&T U-verse Channel 99).

Thanks to Steve and Frank for the considerable work that goes into making this happen. Our hope is that some folks will see the broadcast and then either come to our jams as spectators, or better yet, take an interest in the steel guitar. We believe these entertaining programs will be a good general introduction to the steel and encourage viewers to want to know more.

Don’t forget, our next jam is Sunday May 1st at the American Legion, Post 593 in Converse. See you there.

Yes Ben, Jorja and myself were able to watch both April 23rd and the 30th shows. Both days were very professionally done. In fact, I spoke to Mr. Bissell today (May 1st)at the Jam, and complemented his good work on the production. I guess with all the help of the San Antonio Steel Guitar players, there can be a spark of life into someone interested in learning more about the steel guitar, and the players who are willing to help out anyone on this most beautiful instrument.
