The next SouthEast Texas Steel Guitar club meeting in Katy will be on Sunday May 1st 2:30pm. The building will be open at 1:30pm for setup. This is also posted at www.steelguitarforum.com under the Events section.
We will meet at Life Church which is located at 26189 Westheimer Parkway in Katy.
Featured Player:
Jody Cameron
We will also have a jam time for those who bring their steel guitars.
We want more steel players to be featured. If you only have 2-3 prepared songs. we can arrange for a short featured spot just let us know.
Directions to the LIFE Church building are:
From I-10 W (Katy) :
Take the exit for Pin Oak Rd ( Katy Mills Mall - exit 740 I think? )
Take Pin Oak Rd. south.
Pin Oak Rd will turn into Westheimer Parkway
Take Westheimer down to Life Church @ 26189 Westheimer Parkway on the right
Park your car in the back parking lot and enter the youth room through the back door. You can also park in the front. Usually one of the doors on the left is unlocked.
(PS - No smoking on church property)

July 3 - 4th of July holiday. No meeting

Sept 4 - Labor Day holiday. No meeting

Everybody, My wife and I are new to PSG and were told of tomorrow's event and group by Jody Cameron. My question is, if camera's are allowed, both cell phone and regular. I do not want to break any rules, spoken or assumed, as this being our first time at one of these functions.

Weldon, Your camera would be fine, or a video. Some of our members have taken videos and posted them here and on YouTube.
You can get a lot of tips at our meetings, so come with or without your guitar. |

Our featured player was Jody Cameron and he put on a great show as usual.
Other musicians were Larry Schoppe-bass & vocals, Bobby Keith-drums & vocals, Billy Phelps - lead guitar & vocals, David Hubenak - steel guitar, Mark Everson - fiddle & vocals, Patty Phelps - bass guitar & vocals, Doug Evelrud - vocals, Preston Brown - vocals.
We were glad to see some new faces including some new steel players.
Remember to come out June 5th for our featured player Mark Adkins and our jam session. |
