Who knows Bruce Boutons copedent?

Just curious as to what Bruce Boutons copedent is. Havnt found it
on my own research. Can anyone help?

Ok this was false Info I found; so I deleted it.

Maybe Bruce can chime in and relay his Set up to us??

I don't think that could be correct however because I know Bruce raises
his F# to G# and I'm pretty sure that he lowers his
Es on the RKL...

Ricky, I bought that guitar a few years ago from someone in Arkansas! The E9 was set up(poorly) like those charts( which are shots from the back cover of Emmon's "Going Out Swinging" tab book). I don't know if Bruce ever owned it! the C6 neck was a mess and knee levers were different than that chart, with LKL lowering the 2nd string a half-step!

Thanks anyway Ricky. I've done as much web research as
I could trying to find it. Maybe someone who knows will fill us in.
I'm most interested in knowing how Bruce
lowers His sixth string and how he raises his seventh string. ( if he raises his seventh)
Also if he lowers his fifth and tenth with the Vertical? A shot of his
copedant would answer all this though lol

No Dustin; I haven't drank a drop of alcohol in over 25 years and I'm pretty sure Bruce wouldn't be as successful as he is; by doing that either.

On E9th:
Lower 6th string on Right Knee Left
Raise 7th string on Right Knee Right
Lower 5 & 10 with Vert
Bruce should confirm.....

Ok Bruce yelled back and here it is.
The copedent he uses on the road is the 3 pedal 4 knee of this chart.
The "4th p" is used in the Studio.
I forgot to ask him his string gauges; so I assumed the regularly used Emmons Pedal steel gauges.
BOTH B's to A on 4th pedal corrected.
Thanks Bruce for your kindness as we all have been huge fans of yours; even before you started playing....ah..ha.

I'm a HUGE fan of Bruce's playing. He has an amazing ability to go from being Mr. Subtle, playing some beautifully placed, shimmering background lines like on Kathy Mattea's "A Few Good Things Remain", to ripping off these fast, perfectly-executed solos like on Brooks & Dunn's "White Line Casanova". I've learned so much by listening to him ...and he makes it sound so easy! Crazy talented musician that I admire immensely! Hope to get the opportunity to meet him someday!
I'm in the process of planning some copedent changes on my Sho~Bud LDG. I have no idea why I never thought of the half-stops on 1 & 7, but I LOVE that idea. My LKR originally pulled my 1 & 7 F#'s to G. I have since changed that pedal to pull 1 to G# and it also lowers my 6 string G# to F#. When I'm done, my RKR will work like Bruce's with that half-stop and bring back one of the original changes my guitar had on it! So glad I didn't order parts or begin the work yet! Thanks for the research Ricky!!! I've been wondering about his copedent ever since I started playing.

Bruce's setup is about as basic as it gets, and the message is loud and clear that you don't need bells and whistles to be a fine player.

I was wondering how Bruce gets a feel stop at the half, while raising 1 and 7. Does he engage the 2nd string at that point or does he, like I do, have a dedicated feel stop device. I feel the separate device is much more adjustable; and easier to adjust. Ron

Another is Lloyd Green. Lloyd's setup is quite basic compared to most, and well, we all know what an absolute monster player he is.
I could have a steel with 10 pedals and 10 knee levers and still not be in their league!
