Does anyone know what connection Jean Shepard has with the commercials for Springer Chicken?

If I was a bettin' man, I'd say she got paid to do a gig.

I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that Jean and Gus, who owns Springer Mountain Farms Chicken, have been good friends for years.
