This may not be the right forum index, but here it is.....

SKB WHEEL CASES
Information for what it is worth

I recently had a SKB wheel case for my Sierra D10 break at the wheel assembly. I sent it to SKB for repair or replacement under their warranty program to original owners. I removed the foam lining not knowing if they were going to replace or repair the case. I did not remove the “center compartment lid” as I thought it was original to the case as it was riveted in.
SKB disposed of the original case upon receipt and sent me a brand new one. Now here is the problem, SKB no longer makes a wheel case to the same dimensions as the older one. The inside diameter of the first replacement case is almost the same as the width of the D10. Plenty of room for a S10, but a D10 will squeeze in with no foam. Probably about a -/+ ¼” wider at the most.
The second replacement case they sent me is a:
“i series model 31-4213-12-BE” Inside dim 42.5 x 13.5 x 12
There are handles on both ends and on the side also with a pressure relief valve.
It has “dulie” 4 wheels and is watertight and dustproof with lifetime warranty.
It does not have the TSA locking capability.
Plenty room enough to put your VP and cables in with the guitar. So, the bottom line is if you break your older case, you cannot get a replacement case of the same size.
Just saying..
