I have a Traynor 40 watt tube amp that I rarely use so today I fired it up and the reverb would not work. I tried removing the RCA jacks in the tank and reinserting them. The thing that is puzzling is I bought this amp new about 6 years ago and it has never left the house or gets moved. If I turn the reverb knob up all the way the amp hums a bit so there is signal going through the circuit.

Any thoughts?

First suspect is the RCA plugs.
Perhaps the reverb drive? Just because the return works doesn't mean the send does.

Isolate to either drive or recovery... shake the amp... does the reverb crash? Then your problem is in the drive circuit. No crash? Then the problem is in the recovery circuit. You can unplug the recovery RCA jack and touch the tip to see if the input's hot... no buzz (especially when not grounded) then you have a circuit problem... else, if you get a buzz, it's the tank itself. HTH!

There is no crash when you shake the amp so. I will have to get the amp on the bench and check the RCA connectors again at the tank and where they go into tha amp. I played this amp several months ago and the reverb was lush and yesterday nothing. In any event, I plugged a HOF reverb to use the amp and it sounds very nice so hopefully is a small problem to get the spring reverb back.
