Mods for Fender Blues Deluxe

Been thinking of picking up a Blues Deluxe for Steel and guitar. I'm wondering what mods besides the speaker is recommended to make them more steel appropriate. I like the way they look and you can pick them up fairly reasonable. 40 watts is adequate for a lot of things I do

Steve, I have an early model Blues deluxe that I have had my amp tech fit a Fromel Electronics tone upgrade kit. Well worthwhile for the improved clarity and response. I only use it with my Tele and not steel.
