Goodrich 120 wiring question

I opened my Goodrich 120 pedal to add the resistor mod for a tuner out, and saw there is only one wire connected to the output jacks. Is that normal? No ground wire? Or does the jack contact the body of the pedal, making that wire unnecessary?

Bingo. I don't always trust the aluminum body to provide a ground, so I tie all the sleeves together.
