Lana Rosella and myself have spent the last few months working on creating the USGA. We will be having our first show in late summer. No location or time is definite yet. We are thinking around Six Flags west of St Louis.
We are looking for interest in doing our show, such as vendors and players. We have already recieved a lot of interest. Steve Palousek has agreed to do the show and will be doing a siminar.
I want to thank Paul Franklin for the nice visit and the advice, also my friends Ric Boyer, Ron Elliot, Mike Brown, Dan Burnam and others for your input. If you want to be a part of this show, message me on here with details. We will keep you informed as we go along.

I was just floating a similar idea and have been making a list of local players to form a Missouri/Illinois association to unite all the local players. I was thinking tentatively of basing in St. Louis as Gateway Steel Guitar Association (?). Ideally, we could be prepared to utilize (you guessed it) Labor Day weekend.

I'll PM you my contact infromation, Bill.

Any thoughts of contacting the Scott family and Taking the ISGA and keeping it going - would also work well with the HOF members and plaques?
Just a thought

I've had several people suggest to have our show on Labor Day week end. I did not want anyone to think we were taking over or taking advantage of the ISGC. So I contacted Mike Scott and ask if they were going have their show any more. There are no plans at this time he said. He assured me it would be ok, that Labor Day week end be fine and wished us luck on our show. So as it stands at this time our show will be Labor day week end. More to follow:

Hi Bill,
Haven't talked to you in a while. Best of luck with your show. I have worked Labor Day Weekend the past 3 or 4 years and had not gone to St. Louis for a while. It's a shame it had to end.

I want to thank Bill for contacting me last week about this adventure. With the decision to not have an ISGC 2016, I was racking my mind on how to continue supporting the Steel Guitar - as I promised Scotty. I am happy to help Bill with his new show as I'm happy to help all other shows.

Thanks so much!!

Name changed to USGA. Also does anyone know of a list of show dates, there's to many on Labor day.
I talked to Larry Toliver today. He indicated he would like to come. Him and Steve Palousek will be doing a seminar together.
