I recently acquired an Emmons LeGrande III, loaded out, and of course it was setup somewhat different than what I am accustomed to. It was Day setup and I use Emmons. I went ahead and played the guitar on the Memorial Day Tulsa show even though it was "backward" to me. After the show, I sent the guitar home with Bobby Bowman, gave him my setup and it arrived back to me yesterday.
Result: the setup was perfect, the guitar played great before he worked on it, and now much to my amazement it plays even better now than ever before. His workmanship is that of a master builder. I am so pleased by his work I just had to share this with the steel guitar world. The pedal action is so fine it is as smooth as silk, it doesn't even begin to play like the same guitar. I was treated with the utmost care and respect, he called me often to update and discuss what he was doing - a much appreciated gesture, it was almost like I was there in person with him. I can't begin to say enough about this man's work, it is absolutely fantastic. I would and will definitely highly recommend him to ANYONE who is needing work done on their guitar. You're guitar will be in very capable hands.
Bobby Bowman is without a doubt one of the most "under-rated craftsmen" in the business. Words cannot begin to express my appreciation for this man, and he plays great steel also, such a gentleman. Again, thanks Bobby, I couldn't be happier!

I know that his playin' is fine as frog hair and he has always helped me in any steel guitar related issue with good sound advice and professionalism. He is "top shelf" as far as I'm concerned.

What a real blessing and convenience to have a steel mechanic (and a push/pull one at that!)like the B-man living 10 miles from my house. Thanks for the great work you do Bobby.

One thing about Bobby that might be overlooked is his teaching ability. When he brought my push-pull to me there wasn't anything under the C6th neck. He said, "if your going to own one of these you need to know how to work on 'em." He took me through it step by step, and by the time he left here, "I are a mekanik."
Many thanks Bobby.

Right you are Randy -
During one of the phone conversations Dr. B and I had, he pointed out several "small details" to me that most of us have over looked for years but yet so vital to the instrument performing as it should. Again, such a gentlemen and one of the most under-rated craftsmen/teachers of our time!

I would like to say that I too have kept Bobby on the phone countless times and I see others have also.I,m wondering when he has time to work on steels which is what he does to make money.I would like to make a motion to start a fund to pay his way to St. Louis or something. If anyone else is interested let me know or put a post up. Thanks lakeshrk

Bobby is a first rate steel mechanic, but more importantly, he is a great person and friend to many. Many times he has been like a second Father to me...giving me advice about "life" stuff as well as steel stuff. I love ya Bobby B.!!

I want to put in an plug for Bobby's CD. If you are a beginner, intermediate, or top pro, I honestly believe that if you will take the time to sit down and LISTEN to his CD you will hear one of the greatest steel players of all time. Listen close and you will learn something from each song each time you hear it.

Thank you Billy, for the plug of my new CD, "Pure and Simple". I still have a bunch of them for sale and if any orders for the tracks happens to come in, which I sold out of, I'll have some more run and can have them in just a couple of days. I also still have a few sets of the complete chord sheet sets available too.
