I'm having trouble getting the EQ set on my NV 112. I think I read somewhere that some people bypass the EQ and use an effects unit. Could I do that by setting the amp controls to zero and using my RV-3 or ??? Maybe Mike Brown could chime in?
Actually this Jeff Newmans old Kline that I have,,,wish I knew what his settings were,,,LOL!!!!! |

A question and a suggestion:
Q) how isn't it sounding right? There's oodles of ways to set it wrong, only a few will yield the sound you want. A better description of what you're not hearing that you want to (or what you're hearing that you dont) could help.
S) instead of cutting the upper mids, Curly Chalker (and some others) boosted the lower mids on other Peavey amps. The mid and shift knobs still roughly opposed each other but instead of being at 10 and 2, were closer to 2 and 10.
Also, what speaker is in it? Many people swap out the Blue Marvel for something else, and find that the sound got worse. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Difficult to find the "exact" word,,,maybe "crisp",,,a little too crisp?,,,,maybe a little more "mellow,,,still clean but a little less crisp and a little more mellow? Maybe a little too "hot" sounding??? ( Mike I'm using basically the PV settings) |

Tommy White runs his with the presence all the way off and just using the highs for the brightness. See the thread he just bumped. Try something like that, bringing the presence down and the highs up a bit _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
