I once bought a short piece of plastic from a steel dealer that clamped onto the leg of my steel, and had screwholes so that you could attach anything to it that you wanted to. It looks like it's some kind of product for attaching electric conduit or something? I am handy enough with a hacksaw and drill that I think I could possibly make do with fabricating some clamps myself. Now that the Amazing Analog Attack Kitten (AAAK!) has discovered the wonderful tinkly noise that fingerpicks make when you bat them around, drastic steps must be taken.

I believe that you can get those leg clamp brackets from George L Products. Click on "Links" at the top of this page and go to "Related Products."

David, I've made those out of PVC pipe. It's the same material, just a different color. I believe it's 1" pipe.

While clamping the kitten to the guitar leg may seem like an ideal solution now, it will eventually grow larger and be able to reach your leg and scratch the bejebus out of you. I suggest a large piece of velcro on its back and another piece on a wall. Not only is the little darlin' kept out of mischief: it makes for interesting wall art and a wonderful conversation piece.

I have had excellent results with simple hardware store steel broom clamps, as shown here :
I no longer use the rig but still use individual stomp boxes. Not recommended for cats.

Aw, c'mon, be nice to the cat, give AAAK his/her own finger picks to play with. I may have to get ours his own guitar.

David,

The pipe you are looking for is the gray, conduit pipe sold at Lowe's or Home Depot and just about every hardware supplier.

It is softer than PVC and easy to cut, sand and smooth out for use as a snap-on clamp. I think the 3/4" ID is what you need, but I'm not sure. Cut a piece length-wise about 25% through, with the opening slightly narrower that the diameter of the leg. Round and smooth all corners and edges. There you have it!

This is the clamp used on most of the 'bar-and-tuning-wrench' holders that snap to the leg of your guitar.

I made some great knee-lever pads with the 1/2" size. They are super and very comfortable. If you want to see them, let me know. I'll e-mail a picture or two to you.

Good luck,

bUd
