Has anyone ever tried coated strings like Elixers on PSG? Seems like they might cut down bar noise on pull-offs, etc.

The coated strings just seem to lose a little something due to the coating (at least, that's my opinion). Proper technique will eliminate those "noises" you are experiencing. It doesn't come easy, but it will come, believe me. There are no "shortcuts"...everything comes with time.

I got a few sets of the Elixer acoustic strings years ago when they first were introduced (sent to me free, can't remember how, but I think it had something to do with dental floss and a responce card).

But the point is, they felt good on my fingers, but lost tone very quickly, and are at least twice as expensive as other alternatives.
