lap steel
Might be a good idea to identify if $1300 is what you are still wanting for this guitar. I am not an expert at these but see similar guitars under $1000 - maybe because of its age or the model it is worth more? It makes me reluctant to make an offer for fear of hurting your feelings just due to my lack of knowledge of the guitar. Having played similar type rick lap steels they sound great and have awesome tone! Good luck on your sale!

Its the early model with no tone knob and jack faces the player. The guitar sounds really great. The guitar is more for the player and not the collector because the tuning machines where replaced and the pickup is from an academy which was the same exact bobbin used for the B6 because the original bobbin was already rewinded and sounded like pure crap. I had supply it with a historically correct bobbin that Rick Allieo had and he instalI it and also re magnetized the horseshoes. 'm not in a huge rush to sell it. The horseshoes are patent pending eras.

I have one of these babies, and I have to say, it's a screamer.
This is most likely a pre-'35 because 1) the strings go through the body, 2) it's a single knob, and 3) it's spelled Rickenbacher with a "ch."
I don't have a dog in this hunt, but this seems like a fair deal, even without the original keys.

If no one else here on the forum is going to say it, I will. 1,300 bucks for a prewar Rick with no case and non original tuners (that don't even match the original screw holes) is too much money. Even though you are asking for someone to make an offer, you need to drop the asking price.
Sorry to give a somewhat negative opinion, but maybe this will get people talking about your guitar. No such thing as bad press. Right?

This does have all the most desirable characteristics for these guitars (IMO): 1.5 pickup, strings through body, chrome plates, single volume, and it is clean. I had a chance to buy a near mint one like this with case for a grand. That was a few years back.
I think the problem here is no case, the holes in the back of the peg-head, and the chip.
Most people buying these are collectors and want mint for resale value (IMO).
I know I carry my panda out to play, and leave one like this at home. My opinion.
It is a nice guitar though.
Good luck,
Lefty
