i have a short in the jack. i will ship the guitar does, anybody know of a good repair guy???

| Since this has nothing to do with specific steel guitar mechanics I would bring this to any qualified guitar repair tech. Whether it is in the jack or the switch, it is nothing he hasn't seen before in any electric guitar. |

I agree that an electrical problem can be repaired by anyone familiar with standard electrical guitar repairs.
You should be able to find such a person locally, and it will cost you less than shipping the MSA.

Dr. Hugh--I agree but if Paul were inclined to do that, he wouldn't have needed to ask. Yes, Joey--it makes no sense to go to the expense and risk of shipping. The only caveat---bring it to your local music store/repair shop but have them repair it while-U-wait. An inquisitive repair man might have never seen one of these before and may want to take it apart to see what makes it tick. Hands off, bud.
It really shouldn't be more that a 10 minute job, max. |

Perfect chance to learn how to fix your steel.
Get a new jack and a 30wt soldering iron from Radio Shack--probably $10. Unsolder two wires install new jack, solder back 2 wires, PLAY!!!! |

| Paul I had the same problem with my MSA and found the switch at Radio Shack for less than five buck's and solved the problem. |
