I've had a 12-string banjo for many years now. As a rhythm instrument in a jazz band it cuts through the brass. I don't think the magnetic pick-up on this instrument is a big deal. The fact is, when you put a pick-up on any instrument it sounds like an electric guitar. But, acoustically, any banjo makes a lot of noise, and a 12-string one makes a LOT.

I'll try to make a recording soon! Sounds great electric and acoustic. Stills retains the banjo sound when plugged in. The pickup is super sensitive and sounds great. Right now i have it in drop D tuning, sounds huge! Its also really fun to tune the pairs slightly off to get a sort of Turkish sound.
