Hi fellow, northeast steel players. About 3 or 4 years ago I had my first steel guitar show. We had a great time. Looked at some great steels, and got to hear them as well. I am thinking of doing another show in the spring . Please tell me your thoughts on this subject. Check out some of the old posts on the forum. Lets see who we hear from. Thank you to all!

Sounds like fun Andy. If I can make it, I'd sure enjoy visiting with everyone... might even have to bring a '69 Emmons along with me !!
Thanks man.

Thanks guys,
If I have enough people to attend this, the date will be April 9th. I'm not doing this for the money, in fact I lost on the first one. I do this because Steel players in my book are very dedicated . Its great to see old friends and perhaps to meet some new folks too. I love the sound of a pedal steel guitar and if you do please try to make this show.
Stay tuned
Thank you

Hi guys,
happy holidays . So far not much response to this. It takes a lot of time planning and money to put this show on. I will make a decision by mid January to move forward or pull the plug. Seems hard these days to get a commitment.

April 9 would be the date. 20 bucks at the door , that includes subs soda and coffee. Bring what ever music items you want to sell. A cash bar will be open if you need cocktail. Keep the posts coming in.
I thank you once again.
Andy- P.S very easy to find exit 8A off I 87.

Hi guys,
Sorry to say to the people that were going to attend this show it will not take place. There are to many folks that say they would like to come, if this or that doesn't come up. I don't see a lot of shows like this around this area and thought it would be nice to do another show. Thanks to all that came to that first show. I tried.

Andy, I don't know the logistics of putting this together, nor do I know how many people you need to make it happen. But just on this thread you have 9, plus yourself is 10. April is still a ways out and probably there are others like myself who are holding off until the date gets closer.
A lot can happen between now and April - work, health, family obligations to name a few. Heck, New York State in early April can be sunny and 60 degrees, or could be 10 degrees and snowing sideways. I think it goes without saying NOBODY at this point can 100% guarantee you they will be there.
I'd say the "maybe" you get is actually a sign of integrity, and is better than someone making a promise they may or may not be able to keep. Sorry to hear you don't feel it is viable, but it seemed like there was a decent show of interest so far. Maybe you'd want to reconsider.

I bet a little more advertising would get more support from the tri-state area. I would be happy to take the ride from central NJ to be able to speak with and watch real pedal steel men and women perform. Maybe/hopefully learn a thing or two? Don't give up yet. Keep talking up the show on the forum, I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Again, can't commit, but if there's some other folks that want to drive up from Philly that could be something I'd surely consider.
