I was just packing the steel out of its case the other day, and saw a spot where there seems to be some slightly corroded looking stuff going on... it's not at an actual friction/movement point, but I'm a little concerned about it.
I know you're supposed to oil moving parts, what do you do to prevent corrosive effects on the other metal parts? New York gets pretty humid, especially in the summer time, so it might be that... any ideas would be much appreciated. |

Hi Nicholas,
This is what I often do. Get a soft cloth and wet it with furniture wax and rub it along the non moving parts underneath the guitar. Keep the guitar from humid areas.
If the guitar already has corrosion build up carefully scrape it off with fine grit sand paper and apply oil to the area with moist cloth.
3 in 1 oil will do just fine. |
