Topic: Pedal 4 changes on knees |

I may be wrong, but on Tommy White's tuning chart I noticed he doesn't use a p4 "lower" for strings 5 & 6 (B>A, G#>F#). But on video he accomplishes the same thing with the "lowers" on different knee levers. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Anyone else split these changes?

OR...do you drop just the A's with the pedal and use the G#>F# lower when needed.

Drew, you can put the B's on the 4th pedal.And that will work ok.However if you're in to Tommy licks as I am.You'll want to mix the B's to A with the B pedal.So you'll want what's known as the Franklin pedal split on 2 knees.
If Pauls your main man. Put the full change on the 4th pedal.If you raise your low F# a full step. with a knee.
I've had the Franklin 4th pedal change since 95 and love it.But about 4 years ago I added an extra knee so I can also split the change.Seems like over kill I know.But there are advantages to both set-ups. I'm happy I have both...............bb |

Good advice, Bobby. I have used the split on those two strings for years on two different knees on my U12.
They are very important to me when playing melody, but I have a hybrid tuning-E9 and E6 and use it in both instances....al

Ok, this what I am going to do. I presently have the PF changes on pedal 4; and of course lower the B's and the lower G# a whole tone. I am going to remove the G# to F# pull on this pedal since I have that pull on RKL.
I just do not wish to sacrifce a knee lever to put it on two levers. I agree With Bobby that it is better to have both situations, but I just don't see a way of getting it without sacrificing something that I do not want to give up.
I will just have to try and learn to use RKL
and pedal 4 as smoothly as just pedal 4 alone. Wish my luck
