4th String E Returns Flat After Lowering

My RKR lowers my E's. I have an old MSA that never gave me problems, but lately when I lower the E's, the 4th string comes back pretty darn flat, 8th string is fine.
My RKL raises the E's, and if I raise the E either when it's flat or from a "good" E, it comes back down fine.
Can anyone suggest something to try to fix it?
Thanks

When's the last time it got a drop of oil in the pivot rivet?

The return spring is weak. Turn guitar upside down and make sure it returns all way to stop after a lower. MSA's are bad about that.
Also, Lane is correct as the changer may need a drop of oil. Most people over oil their guitars. If everything on a guitar is in proper working order, it takes very little oil. I played a LeGrand for 10 years and never put a drop anywhere on it and still played great.

Thanks - I haven't oiled it at all. I'll give that a try as well as take a look at the spring.

The oil did it - but I also think the spring is border line. Thanks guys.
