Broke the "Presence" knob off of my NV 112 last night carrying it out the door. Anyone know a good amp repair person near or in Austin, Texas?

Charley, the places I'd recommend are South Austin Guitars and Austin Vintage. You can always ship the chassis to Peavey, that's probably the best bet since they actually like working on them.

+ 1 for send it to Peavey. Quick turnaround, and cheap.

Sorry for slight topic drift, but,

Question for Mike Brown:

Is the "send it to Peavey option " no more ?
Is that option being replaced by "send it to a peavey authorized dealer ? "

That's a major change, if so. What's up with that ? No more Peavey USA factory service/repair ?

I'm thinking that, with a simple problem like a broken pot, local is going to be quicker and cheaper, once you take shipping costs into consideration.

I think he drew the inference when you answered the question that was asked (where can I take it in Austin), instead of saying "send it to us".

Thanks Mike, I should have read the initial post more carefully. Didn't intend to start a rumor. As an owner of Peavey gear, it's just good to confirm we still have a place to ship to. Thanks.

I think Avalanche in San Antonio lost their tech. Bush has about 5-6 Vegas 400's and blows them up all the time. He mentioned he took a couple of his over there and they told him they couldn't work on it? Mike?

Send the chassis' to the factory. Our techs can work on it.

Mike Brown, when you say "the chasis", do you mean just the control panel? I haven't looked at taking it apart yet because I used it Saturday. I am going to send it to the factory.

Send everything except the wooden box and speaker... take the amp out of the wooden enclosure. If your complaint is about reverb then include the pan/cables. If it involves the footswitch include that too. Wrap it in bubble wrap 2-3" thick, then pack it fairly tightly.

Charlie, these pics are my Milkman, but every amp I've ever owned except the Session 500 is exactly the same.
Remove the upper back panel-4 screws here.

Open up the reverb bag, unplug the cables at the tank (sometimes those cables can cause problems, let them use yours rather than ones on the bench), not pictured.
Remove the screws in the straps on top (they're LONG), shown here).

Slide the chassis (the whole metal frame that is the amplifier itself) out the back.
Box it securely and send it to Peavey.
