Need help with a band name

Post by Nate Hofer »

A buddy of mine and I are starting a duo (perhaps adding a bass player soon) and are interested in a band name that suggests swing music without being too on he nose about it. Lap steel and guitar.

We have a list but I was never great at thinking of good band names. Any suggestions?

Well I've been saving this one up to use myself but it doesn't look like I'm ever going to get around to it so I might as well donate it if you like it: "The Consultants of Swing"

Avoid any play on words. Use something interesting and strong. Don't type-cast yourselves.

If you're up for a laugh and have a Richard in the band you can use the name:

Swinging Dicks.

Remember you heard it here first.

That was good. Too good: At least two other bands out there called this. (According to Facebook.)

All yours for a song title, Nate. No such thing as a bad pun. I think Cul de Sac Cowboys is a winner. I'd buy the t-shirt.

My mind is racing haha...make it a kickin' blues/swing show band thing. Definitely with a horn section.

"Billy Goat Rope"

That'd be an excellent name for a western act with a comedy side
