Anyone out there know of a shop that works on Pedal Steels in Chicagoland (North-Northwest if possible). |

Hi Fred,
I have been playing in the Chicago area for about 30 years. I know most of the players and we all either work on our own steels or send them away to someone like Mike Cass for major work. |

Thanks TC. I'm specifically looking to buy 2 knee levers for an old Fender D10. I was hoping some local shop just might have something laying around that would work. I could do the installation myself if it came down to it. |

try Flattes and Sharpes (might have spelling wrong...) up on N Sheridan (somewhere about 6200, I think).
The guy in there - who sometimes posts here - has steels in stock and plays himself. He might be able to help. |

Fred the guy Ian is talking about is Ed Mooney, and his address as of July 2003 was:
Flatts & Sharpe Music Co.
6749 N. Sheridan
Chicago, Il 60626
773-465-5233
I've dealt with Ed and he was very helpful, communicative and honest. You can do a search here on The Forum to get his email address. I did it unde "Buy & Sell". take care, steve |
