My new aet-up: EXCEL U-12--Goodrich 120 volume pedal-- Boss Bo-Bro--EH B9 Organ Pedal--DR400 Reverb Delay--NV112. Worked last night for the first time all together. Had a little problem: An AC hum if I added amp reverb--had the DR400 set with Lloyd's recommendations. Can anyone recommend a better inline sequence, or help? Thanks,

Lee, are these all in-line, one after another as you seem to indicate?

Why not put the effects through the effects in/out on your 112?

And the pedal in the pedal in/out?

I think the first step is to understand the source of the hum. Is it poorly filtered power supplies going to one or more pedals. ... is it coming in through the pickup. .. ground loop hum...etc..?

I'm using DR Reverb Delay--the hum only comes on with the amp reverb "off".

On the chance that you have only experienced this problem in one location so far, here's something to try. The typical reverb tank is open (think "not electrically shielded") on the bottom. I say "bottom" referring to the way they are mounted in a typical Fender combo like a Twin Reverb. If the amp is sitting on some noisy wiring in the floor below it, it can pick up hum through the tank's recovery coil, resulting in the same symptom you are describing. Turning down the reverb control, which is a volume control for the reverb recovery amplifier stage, would make the hum go away. I don't know how the tank is positioned in a NV112, but thought I should mention it.

I had this problem once when I had my amp sitting on the floor in the middle of a room in an upstairs bedroom of an old house. The fluorescent light fixture on the ceiling below was the culprit. I put the amp on a chair and the problem went away.

Also try wiggling the reverb cable connections.

Hi Chris--thanks for the come-back. I talked to Mike Brown & he says Peavey recommends going thru the EQ Patch. I would love to talk to you about the correct way to wire tor the inline method. Can you call me Sat (collect)? Thanks
