My Mother has passed

Post by Jim Cohen »

My Mother, Marie Cohen, passed away early this morning. Many of my steel pals know of the long and sometimes arduous path of declining health that she had over the past 5 years and my efforts to try to keep her together. But we all know how the story ends, sooner or later, in her case just a week after her 92nd birthday. Thanks for all your well-wishes over the years. At least she did not suffer at the end and I'm grateful that my brother and two sisters and some of their children, and of course my wonderfully supportive wife, Jane, could be with us yesterday and today. Now time for a few deep breaths...

Sorry to hear this Jim, we all know it's coming, but we're never ready.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

What more could a mother ask for?
She lived long enough to see her children grow up to become adults, to marry, to become parents, and teach her grandchildren of love & life. And, finally, she saw you and your siblings' strength in her own last five years of declining health.

It's a very tough chapter to close.

My condolences Jim. This must be hard for you. But she lived a long full life, saw you become a great musician, and didn't suffer at the end.

I hope the love and support of all your friends here and elsewhere helps you get through this difficult time.
