Hey guys.I have a LDG Sho-Bud,that I bought brand new in 1975 or76.Duane Marrs built it and it has and still is an awesome guitar.Years ago I fixed the lowering of the second string to c# problem and that is about it except one of the broken pot-metal knee levers that Duane fixed. He had mentioned at that time of his system that could be fitted on it.I have no doubts that it is amazing, and far better than whats on it now from the factory.Has anyone had this done on your LDG?It does seem abit pricey at first glance.I could sell my old LDG and with the upgrade price [pretty] close buy a new guitar although I know that new one wouldn,t probaly be as good as the old one.I think I worded that right.Any opinions?I do love this steel. It has really been taken care of its just old and has been played alot.It has the squared front and the small pedals.Still plays great just a little worn.Thomas Malugin Columbia,Tn

If you want a SERIOUS axe do the Marrs custom ahop retrofit. New alluminum fingers for max sustain and tone. Elimination of near all the cabinet drop with the body reinforcer. The price is actually very reasonable for a complete mechanics upgrade. I have one and it smokes.

Kevin,
I have a similier aged Sho-Bud LDG (left handed) that I love, and plan to keep.
What does the Marrs conversion cost (ball park)? I play my Dekley now mostly, and play the Sho-Bud on special ocassions. I have a few of the finger brackets left, but have also considered buying the parts from Bobby Seymore and upgrading my LDG.
Thanks,
Lefty

$700.00 for a single. They play like a Zum when they're finished. If you do the refinish at the same time its an extra couple of hundred. AJ Nelson from Sho-Bud does it. You have a new Sho-Bud for $900.00.
