If you are a dobro geek like myself you'd be interested in a guitar that Paul Beard delivered to Andy Hall of the Infamous Stringdusters. The guitar sports a second passive cone for sympathetic "sparkle".
Andy writes about it HERE!

Two cones? I'd love to see how he did that. I guess I'll have to wait for Resosummit.
Thanks for sharing! Andy Hall is one of my current favorite dobro players. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

it's hard to picture where that other cone would be without a picture.
i assume it doesn't have strings pushing a spider down onto it?? |

Correct, I'm aware that it mounts somewhere/somehow in the upper bout of the body. It is a smaller cone, custom sized. The guitar is NOT baffled.

I just talked to Paul and posted corrections up on the reply I made to Chris.
The other thing Paul mentioned is that all the joints (top to sides, etc.) are rounded and the look of the guitar is quite distinctive.
That is all. |
