I have to old but working sealed bass combo amps. I am thinking about repurposing them for steel guitar cabs by pulling out the heads and replacing the speakers with neo speakers. Any thoughts or suggestions ?

I have a ampeg BA112 bass amp that I took the chassis and speaker out of and put in a BW1201. I use it for bass and steel and it sounds great. But it is now heavier than the original amp.

Telonics makes neo speakers voiced for steel.
