I've got a Monoprice lighted keyboard that is great. Don't have to turn on the light just to type a message.
But it is slightly undersized and I am ALWAYS...ooops, there it goes... hitting the caps lock key and writing whole sentences before I notice it (because I ignored the typing teacher in high school and never learned to type without watching the keyboard.)
Is there an app or maybe a Firefox add-on where you can swipe a passage, right-click and select 'invert upper/lower cases'? It is a feature in word processing programs but I don't feel like opening Office just for a forum or facebook post. |

Never mind! I could have sworn I had tried to find something like this before. But it only took me 2 minutes to find a FF add-on (search : CASE CHANGE).

Cool. I wonder if there is one for Chrome.
I would like to slap the guy into next week, that decided to put the caps lock key where it is. I realize that it is in the same location as the shift key on a typewriter, but hey, this is not a typewriter. I don't touch type. I have to look down at the keyboard when I type. And now that I have the tremors real bad, it is even more of a problem. I can write several lines before I look at the monitor. You'd be surprised at the number of errors.
I just spent more time correcting errors in the preceding paragraph, that I did typing it originally. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Exactly.
It was so easy to find for FF and there were several to choose from. Therefore, my bet is that you can find something for Chrome. |

I touch type so this isn't a problem for me, but you roused my curiosity. I just checked this computer's System Settings > Input Devices > Keyboard > Advanced and found that the Caps Lock Key can be disabled. I'm using Fedora 15. I suspect other systems will have similar capabilities. HTH. _________________ "For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert." -- Arthur C. Clarke |

Interesting. Being a techno-reactionary, my first thought is 'but I use that lock'. But it is worth considering.
However on my Windows 10 the only keyboard options I can find are 'key repeat delay', 'key repeat rate' and 'cursor blink rate'. That's all there be.
The app is cool. A good workaround for the penalty of my worst typing sin--enthusiastic typing with head down. |

Try supergluing a thumb tack (point up) to the Caps Lock key. This way you will notice when you hit it! LOL _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |
