Hi all, My name is Randy Stephens. I've been playing guitar and banjo for quite a while now, but have wanted for a long time to learn pedal steel and I guess now is as good a time as any. I'm just 20 years old in the Air Force so I don't have a lot of money to spend on a steel but what do you think is a good guitar to start out with?

Randy, welcome and thank you for your service!

Look through the back pages here or do a search, this topic comes up regularly. One very popular option is the Stage One. They are well made, have enough capability to last you through a LOT of learning, and are fairly inexpensive - ballpark $900-$1000. I'm happy as can be with mine.
