I have been talking to B Greg Jones and Larry Chung (well, -emailing)about my wanting to create a website dedicated to pictures of magnificent old ZB's, similar to Ricky Davis' "House of Wood" pages, but exclusively ZB.
If you have pix of your guitar you would like me to include please email me and let me know... don't send the pix yet, just let me know you are interested.
This will be my winter project for those long cold nights

Great idea Dave. Such beautiful guitars those ZB's. I've got a link here with pic's of my S-10:
http://home.earthlink.net/~bradsarno/ZBpage.html
Please feel free to download the images to use on your site. Some of them are closeups of chipped lacquer so use the better ones. That guitar in the pic's will hopefully get a full restoration in next month or two. I've got a 4th knee lever kit being made for it and when I take it apart I intend to polish the metal and refinish it.

EDITED FOR NEW PICTURE:
the picture below shows the fret board markers:they are Shields & Helmets (in Profile) in a stylized ancient Greek or Trojan war look. Very 1960's, would look great in a batchelor pad rec room as wall hangin's (come up and see my etchings honey?)
third fret- helmet, fifth fret shield, seventh fret different helmet, ninth fret different shield, octave 12th fret all four symbols in miniature... repeat in second octave.
some fret boards are white and some are black[This message was edited by Dave Van Allen on 25 November 2003 at 01:17 PM.] [This message was edited by Dave Van Allen on 25 November 2003 at 01:19 PM.] |

Dave, I'd be happy to send you photos of my '65 D-10 that Greg Jones just reworked. He has some pics of it that he could send as well. Just say when.

Great Idea Dave, I have a picture on the web and a complete history of my 1973 black D10 with mother of toilet seat inlay. Download it at http://www.masga.org/zbcustom/page3.html
Looking forward to seeing a lot of pretty steels.

Its my understanding that the Trojan helmet symbol on ZB's were originally taken from the Trojan condom package design! |

Kevin Hatten, yes, you are correct, Zane had a great sense of humor.
I am a true lover of these guitars. I like them 100% original and have one that I think the world of. I wish it had a couple more knees, but I wish I did too!
I'll support any type of future ZB club, forum,or fellowship events anyone comes up with.
Truly a wonderful playing and sounding guitar. They all look great too!
