Larry,
I prefer two single Black Widow 12" speakers. I have some JBL's that sound nice but can't take the punch.

Paul, I'm just curious about how well the 12's hold up when playing C6th. Do they hold the low notes well? Any break up? |

Paul, so glad to hear you say it.
One very popular, nat'ly known instructor explained to our group that a 12 inch simply cannot hold up to the rigors of dance hall playing.
I've been using a B/W powered, 15 inch, Peavy Session 400 (original) coupled thro'a ProfexII with a Peavy LA-400, B/W 12 inch.
I feel I get a truly great sound and no distortion whatsoever. I have the highs and the bottoms and all in between. IMHO |

paul, just want to sincerely thank you for your input here, thanx.
it's interesting to hear you mention 12's.
i love the sound at lower volume through a smaller amp of mine with one 12. |

Paul
Do you think you get a better recorded sound when you play really loud?
Can you get a good direct sound (no speakers)? |
