Does anybody know how to set up audio on a linux system?
If I can get it to work with an M Audio Delta 66m I can stop trying to load xp on a diffecrent partition.
The Computer is a 64 bit Dell Optiplex 755.
Basically I have a Delta 66 that doesn't show up on the sound setting tab. It does show up on the ALSA terminal but it is dead.
Somebody on the Ubuntu forum said to bring up mudita24 and make your audio patches. Does anyone here know how to do that?
The Computer is a 64 bit Dell Optiplex 755.

James, you didn't mention which version of Ubuntu you are using. You might want to try Ubuntu Studio which is a distro optimized for audio and multimedia software. There is some current info here:

My apologies if this is old hat. I am running so many antique GNU/Linux systems and it has been so long since I have set any of it up and my memory isn't what it could be that I don't have any practical advice to add. Good luck with your project. I may find myself in the same boat if I try to update any of my computers. _________________ "For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert." -- Arthur C.
