Had the Encore a month this week & it is starting to feel so "familiar" that is seems longer.Great guitar...The only problem I've encountered is that when I try to get up from it-it doesn't seem to want to let me go! I find it tends to grab me as I'm tryin to get to bed or tryin to get out the door to go to work.It sounds great.Playing thru a Nashville 112 with a Boss RV-3 and doggone,it's a mighty nice sound.i got the TrueTone pickup...I've tried also going into 2 amps, the Nashville & my Peavey Bandit, same power & again, one 12.going out of the second output on the RV....wow,really full, rich sound...i am most assuredly happy with my choice-this IS truly,a wonderful guitar & Doug has been great to work before & after the build...I will admit,I miss my Emmons terribly & I plan on having another but I don't know that I could stand to part with the Zum.I'll just have to save $ a little longer, cause this guitar IS a keeper! Thanks again to Doug & Bruce for a beautifully designed & built guitar.I've been playing since 1975 & this is 2nd ever new guitar & I'm awfully proud of it.It certainly seems to bring out the best as far as my playing is concerned! I'd love to hear from other Encore pickers to hear what y'all think about yours.God bless,Bob |

Bob, I've had my Encore for around 2 years now and I agree with you, they are great steels. I use it when I'm playing gigs that I also play six string on. I play a P/P Emmons when I get to play steel the whole night. The Encore has a great feel to it and I enjoy playing it as much as my P/P, but I like to play C6 on a few tunes a set if I'm just playin' steel on the gig. If Doug ever starts to build double necks I would definitely consider buying one, he is great to deal with. BTW, I bought my first steel, a Sho Bud Professional that I still have, in December of 1974, so we've both been playing steel about the same amount of time. |
