| I replaced the pot in my Goodrich pedal, and when I ease down on it, there is no gradual increase in volume from full off. Once there is enough travel, sound kicks in at a volume louder than what I think it should be. I replaced that pot with another one, same thing. Is this a pot problem or a different issue? |

Sounds like the pot isn't wired right...

Hi Roger,
It sounds like the pot rotation is not aligned properly. The volume pedal is full off mechanically, but the pot's shaft may not be rotated to full off. Loosen the set screw on the string pulley, and re-align it on the shaft. Please let us know your results.

If you have a linear taper, that would make it act weird as well.

Well, let's see....
It is a PEC pot, as was the first one iput in.
The shaft is full off when the pedal is full off.
The wiring diagram is a little different from the one shown above, but it is identical to my other Goodrich pedal that works great with the Clarostat pot. The difference in the wiring is that all three of the jacks are connected to post 1 in the drawing, but only the two amp jacks go there in the pedal. Has the wiring changed over the years? |

Roger,
Sounds like a misprint in the drawing. The two output jacks should connect to the center arm of the pot. (wiper)

Roger,
I've got a guitar player up here that would enjoy that pedal cause he either plays not at all or wide open.....mostly wide open. LOL Hope you're doing well! Would love to hear you play some good country!

| Roger is the string too loose and crossing over itself somewhere in the travel? Look real close usually most things are simple and they drive us crazy cause we expect it to be a complicated thing!Hope you find it! |

Post 1 is the ground... often boxes make use of the chassis to carry the ground signal... so if you have one jack grounded then the box will ground the others.
